Before you pay a deposit
- Visit in the evening if you can — that's when water, power backup and noise problems show up.
- Ask exactly what the rent covers: food, electricity, wifi and laundry are billed differently by every PG.
- Get the deposit amount, lock-in and notice period in writing, and how deductions on move-out are decided.
- Keep a receipt for every payment — PGkaro residents get one automatically for rent paid through the app.
- Your PG may ask for ID for police tenant verification in Assam; share copies only with the owner.
